Mine went back to the 10 meter mode without the PD option

Any chance that when it arrives the is radio will talk on D and 27.185 11 meter?

I just bought got a 139xlr brand new in the box never hooked up

Will it work with a RADIO SHACK CB 40 channel w/USB and LSB

I had one . Audio was weak out of the factory so I had mine adjusted. I loved this radio! It was stolen out of my car and I never replaced it. Wish I had.

Has a very similar feel to the Astatic D104 lollipop desk microphones. I wonder if it's possible to up/down buttons in it and upgrade the cord with additional wires.

Going on the rust and corrosion on the case, this has seen some water in it's time. The fact it still works shows there wasn't enough water......best use case for these was as wheel chocks.

I have almost bought every CB HAM transceivers that are out there on Amazon. The only radio that i did not buy is the CRE 8900 (DX10) it is a radio that costs about 229 euro. I rather save up more money to drop on a better quality product. No i don't like the CRE 8900 Radio but still thanks for sharing!

Awesome comparison! It has similar results to the tests I've done between a Uniden 980 Bearcat (Astatic noise canceling mike) and the President George with the Digimike.

Remove the foam from the stock will bring up your audio just fine.

I still have a CPI 300 with matching speaker / power supply, also the FC-70, 2 of the 3 meter version SWR meter 2 Talk Powers and 2 adaptors for the FC-70, Unfortunately the CP-300 is not operational, probably needs a recap. He Mentioned Tram, I owned both the Tram D201 and the CPI 300 in the late 70's still have the Tram as well. I remember the receive on the CPI-300 being really good but that for AM radio which is what most of us were talking back then the TRAM D201 was a real powerhouse on AM with loud clear modulation. Be nice to get that CPI going but I have since moved to the ham world.

I tried one of these on 2 different radios! It would squeak & squeal. Especially if I inadvertently touch my lips with it. I had to reverse 2 of the solder joints in the connector to make it work on an old Royce Unit. I ordered a "Pro-Tucker" which uses an AA Battery. It came without a connector but there is a little pamphlet indicating what wire is for what. So I connected it up and it works perfectly! I would recommend the Pro Trucker over this one!

Very nice, I will show this to mates who I am still in touch with here in Australia, we were putting scanners into the old cobra 138's years ago in the 80s' bu they weren't as good as this. Many mates, and I are still into HF CB and are also amateurs. I will pass this around.

Are you using the Aires Pacific usb cable? Standard usb cables won’t work.

I’m having no end of trouble trying to get the aresii to connect to windows 10, no com ports found and unable to communicate with the radio in any way, tried new USB mini cables still won’t connect , all I get is unknown USB device ( device descriptor request failed) it’s driving me bonkers trying to figure it out and as of yet I’m unable to set my radio up

It's about time the use of CTCSS was used. But will it ever be used in FM mode? On what channel? Sure beats carrier squelch control.

When I was trying to decide what new CB I wanted, I was considering all sorts of things (just like everyone else does). So many reviewers gave great reviews of the President models that I had it boiled down to either the McKinley II FCC, or the George II FCC. Ultimately, I went with the McKinley because I wanted to use it primarily as a base unit and it has a front firing speaker. If I was going for a primarily mobile unit, I’d definitely choose the George. The George has that built in USB port which enables you to charge your phone without causing interference on the radio the way it happens if you plug your phone into the cigarette lighter.

What years were the 2000s made and how many were sold?

In 2024 the K-PO- NM-532 is still one of the cheapest 'new' power mics I could find. The Thunderpole website still stocks the NM-532 for £39.99, essentially because it's stood the test of time, proving itself to be a reliable budget power mic. They also stock the slimmer more stylish 'Cobra M-75' power mic at the same price, however I personally prefer the larger squarer NM-532 body with it's front mounted mic gain slider. 👍

I just ordered my President George from CB World in Oregon today.

I'm curious. Can I use a portable Car Jumper to power my President George FCC? I don't want to take apart panels of my vehicle to funnel through the wires to connect to my car battery. ...or is there a cigarette plug that can be purchased to use with the President George FCC?

It's just a fancy cb only ham guys buying this lol
